Day 1, KASSEL EXPEDITION 

Travel to Kassel early afternoon. After checking in at the hotel, a Kassel expert will take you on a discovery tour around the city. This tour takes in important sights, such as the Museum Fridericianum and the Orangerie in the Karlsaue park. At the top of the Wilhelmshöhe hillside park, visitors enjoy a tour around the palace grounds and park, looking down upon Kassel's landmark: the Hercules statue. Alongside historical facts, you will learn many a tale about the city and its people. Once back in the city centre, there is a chance to explore under your own steam. Next stop is Baunatal, where you will listen to the fairy tale teller, Dorothea Viehmann, in the Knallhütte brewery. The fairy tales are followed by an evening meal together in the brewery.

Day 2, BROTHERS GRIMM EXPEDITION  

This day focuses on the State Exhibition of Hesse EXPEDITION GRIMM. Departure for the documenta-Halle after breakfast. The tour commences in the exhibition halls where the most important exhibits are on display. In the large hall, a succession of interactive exhibits allow visitors to discover the lives and influence of the brothers Grimm up to the present day, from a completely new perspective. There will be time at the end of the tour to visit the exhibition on your own. After a lunch break, a guide will take visitors through Kassel's city centre, following in the footsteps of the brothers Grimm. The tour comes to a close in the Brothers Grimm Museum in the Palais Bellevue. This museum traces the lives of the famous brothers, and presents important exhibits such as the Grimms’ Fairy Tales manuscripts, which belong to UNESCO world documentary heritage. In the evening, visitors can choose between attending a GRIMM2013 event or a Kassel State Theatre performance (depending on performance schedule). Overnight in Kassel.

Day 3, GRIMMLAND EXPEDITION

After breakfast, departure for a tour of the Sleeping Beauty castle of Sababurg in Hofgeismar. After a history and fairy tales tour, visitors can enjoy a light snack in the castle restaurant. Depending on the return journey, recommended stop at the brothers Grimm city of Marburg or at Hanau.
